Using the drone ensured no requirement for scaffolding or other access equipment and ensured close inspection of all areas of the roof. The survey could be undertaken quickly and safely.
Challenges for the drone team included the location of the building on a busy commercial high street , control of the area and challenges involved with flying the drone close to the building especially where the roof itself restricted the ability to fly while maintaining visual line of sight of the drone which is a safety (and legal) requirement.
